Changes!

Please discuss some of the changes you plan to make between the current state of your website and the final draft. What isn't working? What isn't yet done? What have you changed your mind about after working with the site for a few weeks?

A few weeks? Ha. I, as well as most of the class I'm pretty sure, have not actually started on the website, but you best bet I've been trying to plan it out every time I get a spare second or two. So the main changes I plan on making are actually having something there to change. I've started compiling the information I plan on sharing and thinking about which items (like photos) I want to or am allowed to use. I am excited too as this week I am able to add a few more items to my professional resume! I need to make sure in my planning time I balance thoughts about information with thoughts about the layout and appearance. I'm also doing my best to soak in everything I can as we work through the book so hopefully the process of making this site will be a challenge, yes, but a fun challenge.

Dreamweaver!

Dreamweaver is very new to me, so I had quite the adjustment process when we first started working in the book. In the first chapter I was terrified for a little while as many of the tasks we were supposed to do had terminology that I am only somewhat familiar with. Dr. Charlton was right though, after the first couple chapters, you do start to become more familiar with the program and it gets a lot easier to handle. Although I’m getting the hang of it, I still definitely think I could use some more practice.

I’m nervous for project 1, I hope I’ll know the program well enough by the time I actually get started that I can get a decent amount done without having to keep referring to the book and the notes I take on my own. I guess we’ll see how it goes! It’s definitely going to be an interesting process, I look forward to seeing how it turns out.
